I was thinking of providing a complete list of food found in Thailand, but I decided there are too many and that the list of foods I love most would be much easier. So, the list below is a brief list of my favorite Thai foods.
Fried Rice - I love the pork fried rice Thai-style breakfast. This is a basic fried rice with tomatoes, onions, and spices such as Thai chili and lime thrown in at the end.
Thai Omelette - Thai omelette is a simple but delicious dish made with eggs, peppers, onions, pork, and other ingredients produced as desired. I make it with hot peppers and Thai chili. The omelette is served with white rice.
Tum Papaya Salad or Som Tum is a spicy salad consisting mainly of fresh shredded papaya with tomato, chili, garlic, lime juice, and fish sauce. Thais love this dish spicy, so be careful.
Hoi Tod - Tod Hoi is a mixture of eggs and clams (or oysters), cooked with spices, namely white pepper. This is served on a bed of fresh bean sprouts. This is often done on the road and can also be crispy.
Moo Ma Ma Salad or Ground Pork - which is browned ground pork served with chili, fish sauce, tomato sauce mixed with chopped shallots before. This is often served with instant spaghetti. This is another hot dish such attention again.
Wing Bean Salad - This dish is very similar but tends to have more of a tomato base and adds the chopped leaves of fresh beans and a bit cooked to order. Very tasty.
Glass Noodles - Noodles made from mung beans are very thin and take on the flavor of the food that goes well.
Fried Grouper - This simple dish is of fried sea fish. What makes it my favorite is the spice served with it. The English name is fish sauce, and it is served with green chili, finely chopped garlic, and fish sauce. It's very spicy and delicious.
Common Spices
Fish sauce - liquid amber fish and salty fish sauce - green, smooth to lumpy dip, chili, and garlic
Soy sauce - spicy and salty brown liquid
Red pepper - chopped dried red chili
Vinegar - usually served with chopped fresh chili
Sugar
The longer I live in Thailand, the longer this list gets. During a visit to Thailand, I urge you to try as many things as possible, but remember that most Westerners cannot handle the spice level of Thai cuisine without practice.
